Tommy Lee may soon add the names of Busta Rhymes and Lil' Kim to the list of collaborators he has put together for Methods
of Mayhem. Tommy has already called Norman Cook (Fatboy Slim) and the Chemical Brothers to join. He is in talks to debut
the band on this year's Family Values tour. However, spokespeople for the tour say it's not confirmed. Tommy mentioned that
Methods of Mayhem has been offered a spot on a KROQ radio-station-sponsored event in L.A.
Tommy has already gotten Snoop Dogg, Kid Rock, the Crystal Method, Beastie Boys' DJ Mixmaster Mike, and Limp Bizkit's
Fred Durst for the first Methods of Mayhem album. The band's touring outfit is slated to include Tom Davies
(a local Californian bassist), Mixmaster Mike, and former NIN drummer Chris Vrenna. Two drum kits will be set up with
Tommy playing the acoustic set and Vrenna playing the electric kit. Tommy also plans on singing, playing the guitar,
and rapping. Tommy hopes to have the album out by August or September of this year.
There's also news of Tommy and Snoop Dogg recording a heavy metal/rap album called The Outsiderz. A representative for
Tommy Lee said it was "too early" to call the Outsiderz project a done deal. The Outsiderz song, "We're Gettin' High In
This Motherfucker" features Tommy on vocals. This project is described as more metal than rap. There is no word of when
it will be released.
